Can I legally lease a vehicle in NJ and drive it without a NJ driver's license?

I have just come to US on a work visa and have my home country license and an International Driver Permit (from home country; valid for 1 year).

I know it would take a while before i can get my NJ license...
Based on that can i lease a car and legally drive it in NJ and for how long...
