So we went into a dealership this saturday, sat in there for a good 8 hours, decided to trade in our older vehicle for a new one. The older one cannot be registered in the state we live in (california) but we told them we had the registration at home, believing we did.
We got aproved, we have the car, but, now we ran into an issue. They wanted the van today, as well as all the paperwork we have for it, but, we cannot find the registration! The last place it was registered was in Hawaii, so quite difficult to just go and file for a replacement (also doesnt help that it hasnt been registered in a few years as its been sitting in a garage) so, is there anything I can do? Do we HAVE to have the previous registration? Is there any other way to get it?
Other info: The vehicle is still being financed until it is given to the dealership, so we do not have the title, but they can get that from the bank. We have already checked that.
