We bought the 2004 envoy last year from a dealer. . Occasionally I would smell gas while driving as if I splashed some on my shoe but really didn't. Recently, it is more noticeable more often and I have read about the recall on the gasoline tank issue. I called the dealer and GMC and was told that my particular VIN was not included in the list of vehicle affected. . How can that be when I am having the same issues that others had who have since had their vehicles recalled? . This is seriously a problem with me as I have small children who I love dearly and do not want harmed due to GMC overlooking my vehicle. . The smell is very strong in the front, under the hood, and all around the outside on the drivers side. . At first I didn't really pay attention but noticed it. . Now that it is noticed almost every time I drive it, I am fearful that I will just blow up spontaneously. . The check engine soon light comes on almost every time as well. . It also will go off at random. . Do I have other issues that could cause the light to come on such as the o2 sensor or something similar. Or fuel pump or filter issues perhaps? . I am responsible for the well being of my kids. How can I get my vehicle re-evaluated for the recall? . I cant afford anything more than what is already on my plate......HELP ME, MAMA NEEDS TO MAINTAIN HER COMPOSURE
