I own a 2009 4 cyl basic Tacoma. I dislike it so much that it has set in the garage most of the time. Now in 2013 and almost 15,000 miles, I am noticing extensive rust showing up on the door panels. Toyota took my 2000 Tacoma which had zero rust ( independent body shop assessment, no perforation) claiming it was faulty. Not faulty enough I guess as it is now riding around the back roads of Costa Rica. (email received from new owner six months after Toyota claimed it would be crushed.) Did Toyota have a recall on these later trucks. This time I won't buy another what ever the great deal.
